Mediation Homeless Prevention Services Mediation Homeless Prevention Services We are proud to launch a new pilot project called Mediation Homeless Prevention Services, an initiative dedicated to preventing youth homelessness in Warwickshire as part of the National Strategy. We believe every young person deserves safety, stability, and the chance to build a future they feel proud of. Why Youth Mediation Matters Relationship breakdowns—whether with family members, caregivers, landlords, or in supported housing—can lead to housing insecurity for young people. Our service aims to step in early to reduce conflict and help young individuals reconnect with the networks and support they need. Mediation offers a calm, structured environment to rebuild communication, reducing stress, costs, and pressure associated with legal disputes. Eligibility and Target Areas This service is specifically tailored for young people aged 16 to 25. We provide support in the following situations: Living at home with families, parents, and caregivers dealing with relationship breakdowns. Conflict with landlords, supported housing providers, or accommodation teams. Issues with local authorities, housing associations, and social services. Concerns raised by charities, youth services, community organisations, schools, or colleges about a young person's living situation. Areas We Address We assist with a range of challenges, including: Communication breakdowns and disagreements over boundaries, responsibilities, or expectations. Conflicts arising in supported housing or shared accommodation. Cultural or lifestyle differences creating tension. Issues related to identity, such as sexuality, gender, race, or disability. Early signs of disengagement or instability. Our service requires all parties involved to have a willingness to engage with a mediator, whether individually or collectively, online, in-person, or via multi-agency collaboration. Why This Service Matters Mediation aims to take proactive steps towards reducing youth homelessness, strengthening family and community support systems, and offering a quicker and more compassionate alternative to formal interventions. By improving communication, wellbeing, and stability, this service empowers young people to build confidence and reconnect with their families, communities, and essential services. We are thrilled to collaborate with local organisations in Warwickshire and support the National Strategy for preventing youth homelessness.
