Volunteer Gardener 🌱 Join Doorway as a Volunteer Gardener! Help young people grow fresh produce, build confidence, and learn new skills in our community garden. Doorway supports young people aged 16–25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our community garden plays a key role in developing life skills and providing fresh, seasonal food for our Cooking Workshops. We are looking for friendly, reliable volunteers who enjoy being outdoors and want to make a positive difference. What You’ll Be Doing Growing and maintaining seasonal fruit and vegetables Supporting young people to get involved in gardening activities Helping provide ingredients for our cooking sessions Keeping the garden space tidy and welcoming Sharing ideas and working as part of a supportive team What You’ll Need An interest in gardening (experience helpful but not essential) Good communication skills A positive, encouraging attitude Reliability and flexibility A willingness to work with young people A DBS check may be required if lone working with young people.
