Celebrating the Completion of Dickens House

We are thrilled to unveil Dickens House, our second property owned by Doorway providing stable accommodation for homeless young people. We have dedicated Dickens House to the incredible contributions of Pat Dickens to Doorway and her commitment to helping young homeless people in Warwickshire. Dickens House serves as a beacon of hope and support for those in need, embodying Pat's legacy of kindness and dedication.

A Collaborative Effort

The completion of Dickens House would not have been possible without the tireless work of organisations and individuals who came together to make this vision a reality. We would especially like to thank Keith and Michael at SMALL JOBS - Bedworth for their dedication and hard work in completing this project within an incredibly short time frame.

We are grateful to the efforts of Darren from Washington Builders, UK Flooring, Amtico.com, Spinney Electrics, Coventry Intermediaries Team at Coventry Building Society and the staff and volunteers at Doorway, all of whom played an indispensable role in bringing Dickens House to life.

Honouring a Legacy

Dickens House is named in honour of Pat Dickens, whose unwavering support and kindness helped shape the mission of Doorway. Pat’s efforts left a profound impact, and naming this house after her is a testament to her dedication. In a heartfelt ceremony, Pat’s family joined us to officially open the house. We are confident that Pat would have been delighted to see the difference Dickens House is making in the lives of young homeless people in Warwickshire.

Supporting Youth in Warwickshire

Dickens House has been created to provide support, shelter, and hope for young homeless individuals who need it most. It symbolises a step forward in our mission to address homelessness and create lasting, positive changes in our community.
